Q. Does The Edifier MS50A Need An App To Work?
A. The MS50A does come with a free companion app for setup, but to play music you use the Amazon Alexa app or you can use Airplay 2 built into your iOS phone, Spotify Connect or stream via Bluetooth. So you don't need to install yet another app, just control it natively from your phone or Amazon app!
Q. Can I Use Alexa Voice Control Directly From The MS50A Speaker?
A. Not directly. It doesn't have a built in microphone to protect your privacy, so for voice control you'll need a separate Amazon Echo device.
Q. Do I Need An Amazon Echo To Operate This speaker?
A. You can play music directly connected via Bluetooth, you can stream music via Apple Airplay 2 and also using Spotify Connect. You can add the MS50A to an Alexa account and use Amazon Music to stream music without actually having an Amazon Echo device, you just won't be able to use voice control.
Q. Can I Group This Speaker With Other Speakers?
A. Yes you can group the speaker with other MS50A speakers, other Amazon compatible speakers or other Airplay 2 compatible speakers allowing the MS50A to fit right into your home eco system.
Q. How Do I Pair Two Speakers Together For Stereo Sound?
A. You simply download the free Edifier Home companion app, set up a stereo group and set your speakers as left / right accordingly.
